Disc Repositioning

Joint Disorders (TMD, TMJ)

Case Study 1

What Is Disc Repositioning?

Mitek anchor disc repositioning is an open procedure that allows the surgeon to reposition the articular disc to its proper anatomical stance. An endaural incision is utilized to access the joint space in order to place the Mitek anchor on the condyle while using orthopedic sutures to position the articular disc. The incision used is highly cosmetic. This procedure is most effective for patients who have an adequate bony structure that can accept the anchor without causing degeneration of the surrounding anatomy.
