Ankylosis From Trauma

Ankylosis refers to the abnormal fusion of joints, resulting in loss of mobility. It can occur due to various factors such as trauma, infection, or chronic inflammation.

Common Symptoms

Ankylosis commonly causes joint stiffness, limited range of motion, and joint pain. Affected individuals may experience difficulty in performing daily activities and may have challenges with mobility. Swelling, inflammation, and joint deformity can also occur.

Procedure Performed

Bilateral Total Joint Replacement (TJR).

About This Patient

We treated this patient as a 7 year old. We will be performing her next surgery in 2024.
